- NASA Earth Science Data and Information System (October 2015 to present)
The HDF Group provides high quality support and services for the use of HDF software and related technologies to the NASA Earth Science Data and Information System (ESDIS) project and the Earth Observing System (EOS) mission.

- Concurrent Read/Write File Access
The European synchrotron particle accelerator community and The HDF Group have been working together to develop the capability for multiple reader processes to read from an HDF5 file while another process writes to the file.
- Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS)
NOAA and NASA rely on software from The HDF Group to archive satellite data from the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) and to make the data easier to study.
